I just wanted to follow up and show the end result of sewing all the pieces together for the shoulder piece. At first I used a gold thread (meant for embroidery) since it matched the fabric better, but the thread kept snapping. I didn't have any other colors that were remotely close to it so I ended up using invisible thread (though it's not really "invisible" in my opinion). Here is a collage of the piece completely sewn together. Enjoy!
I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to make the "bead" pieces that hang off the ends. I can't find a bead in that shape that's flat. I might make them out of scrap pieces of worbla. We'll see though. Still have some time to figure it out!
Now to finish the other shoulder, move onto the skirt, and finish the bodice. Slowly it comes together!
